    Grown in small orchards dotted around the Tiptree Estates, the fruit is picked in November and the resulting jelly is a rich red colour and has the flavour of a spiced apple. Try medlar jelly as an alternative to apple sauce. A medlar is part of the apple family and after being picked the fruit is blet. The fruit is then brought to the boil and simmered for 4 hours. The fruit is then pumped into our fruit press and squeezed to release all the juice.
