The Tiptree Jam Factory
The Tiptree Tea Room takes bookings for breakfast, lunch & Afternoon Tea, Monday - Fridays only, excluding bank holiday weekends. For non bookings the tea room operate a queuing system, however, the queue often moves quickly and is well managed by members of the team. If you require a chair while you wait, please let a member of our team know and they will be happy to help. We do not accept any bookings on a weekend.
The Essex Rose accepts bookings every day of the week during their opening times, including bank holidays and school holidays.
The Lock accepts bookings Monday – Friday at any time (excluding bank holidays).
The Lordship accepts bookings every day of the week between 9am – 3pm, including bank holidays and school holidays.
The Courtyard does not accept any bookings.
The Barns accepts bookings every day of the week during their opening times, including bank holidays and school holidays. (Bookings are not taken on Cressing Temple Event Days. Please see here for more details)
The Batte-Lay accepts bookings all day Monday - Saturday, including bank holidays and school holidays.
Barleylands accepts bookings Monday - Friday, excluding bank holidays and school holidays.
The View accepts bookings every day of the week, excluding bank holidays and limited bookings during the school holidays.
Bond Street accepts bookings every day of the week.
Southwold does not accept any bookings.

When is Afternoon Tea served?
Afternoon Tea is available all day and can be enjoyed in any one of our Tiptree Tea Rooms on any day of the week at the price of £30 for two (£38 for the Sparkling Afternoon Tea). To make a reservation please contact the tea room of your choice direct (check above booking information for each tea room).
Do you accept groups/parties at the tea rooms and can I book the tea room exclusively?
All of the Tiptree Tea Rooms accept group walk-ins depending on availability. There are some sites that are suited better to larger group visits such as Tiptree, Barleylands and The Barns although we cannot guarantee exclusive rights to the tea room.
What does Afternoon Tea consist of and how much is it?
Tiptree’s Traditional Afternoon Tea is served all day in any of our tea rooms at a cost of £30 for two. This is served on a three tier cake stand with freshly made sandwiches of your choice, homemade fruit scones, Tiptree Strawberry Preserve and Rodda’s classic Cornish clotted cream. A selection of our individual patisserie items to finish and with your choice of unlimited tea or filter coffee. Afternoon Tea as above can be enjoyed with a glass of prosecco each for £38.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
We do sell Tiptree gift vouchers and these can be purchased from any of our Tea Rooms/Shops or on this website. The gift vouchers are available in £10 and £20 denominations as well as Traditional Afternoon Tea and Sparkling Afternoon Tea. Please note that Tiptree tea room vouchers are not redeemable for goods on www.tiptree.com
Can we have a tour of the factory?
Unfortunately as we are a working jam factory we are unable to give tours to the public, however we do have an informative video in the Tiptree Jam Museum that shows the factory operations and a brief history of the company. The museum is free of charge and open seven days a week at the Tiptree site. We also offer seasonal farm tours on our tractor & trailer, for more information view our 'Tours' page on the main menu.
Do you have Gluten Free options?
All of our meals are prepared fresh to order. Some of our food contain allergens. If you have any specific dietary requirements please inform a member of staff who will be happy to help. Our tea rooms have a limited supply of gluten free products available every day. If we are given notice prior to your visit we can ensure we have a wider selection. We must stress that even though we can provide gluten free items they will not be prepared in a gluten free environment.
Winter/Summer opening hours
The Tiptree Tea Rooms operate throughout the year on two sets of times – Winter Hours and Summer Hours. These are determined at the same time as the British Summer Time (BST) and the UK Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). For more information on a particular sites opening hours please visit our locations page.
The only Tiptree Tea Rooms that welcome dogs are Dedham and Southwold, however, some of our other tea rooms do have outside seating areas where dogs are welcome. Please contact our tea rooms before you visit to double check.
