A slice of pure honeycomb immersed in clear Acacia Honey.

Pollen content and delicate flavours retained, our honey is clear, containing a slice of pure honeycomb; ideal for those with a sweeter tooth.

Delicious drizzled over pancakes, muesli or swirled into porridge. The honey we choose is not over-filtered, so the pollen content and light delicate flavours are retained.

The finished product is hand packed in our small production unit. Honey is unsuitable for infants under 12 months.

From a small thatched cottage in Somerset to a small production unit in Tiptree, Thursday Cottage still stir the fresh finest ingredients by hand, in open pans and hand fill all their jams and marmalades (you get more whole fruit hand pouring).

Our History

Our History

The ‘Tiptree’ story begins around the early 1700s with Trewlands, the farm that was later to become the main site for jam-making in the Essex village of Tiptree. Today, there are some 11,000 inhabitants in what may well be the largest village in the country.

Today, we have a plentiful supply of a huge range of fruits, sometimes in many different varieties too. Yet it wasn’t always that way and thousands of years ago, the very first preserves were created in order to store that goodness for year-round use.

Our farm is LEAF Marque accredited (Linking Environment And Farming), recognising that we work sympathetically with our environment and encourage links with our local community. Fruit crops include strawberries, raspberries, mulberries, Morello cherries, rhubarb, damson, Victoria plum, greengage, quince, and the curious medlar.
