 Tiptree's signature conserve, a delicious dark crimson luxury jam made from the tiny, rare & intensely sweet Little Scarlet strawberry. The tiny berries are usually no larger than a 1p coin (up to 20mm).

Wilkin & Sons are believed to be the only commercial growers of this fruit anywhere in the world today, making Little Scarlet Conserve utterly unique to Tiptree.

Did you know that Little Scarlet is one of James Bond's favourite conserves? Our favourite little strawberry is mentioned in the Ian Fleming novel, From Russia with love.

Falvour bombs in every bite

Gorgeous. A cut above ordinary strawberry jam. Instead of gloopy strands of fruit you get these little jewels of tiny wild strawberries which elevate every mouthful. A bit more expensive of course but so worth it.

About Us

Our History

Our History

The ‘Tiptree’ story begins around the early 1700s with Trewlands, the farm that was later to become the main site for jam-making in the Essex village of Tiptree. Today, there are some 11,000 inhabitants in what may well be the largest village in the country.

Today, we have a plentiful supply of a huge range of fruits, sometimes in many different varieties too. Yet it wasn’t always that way and thousands of years ago, the very first preserves were created in order to store that goodness for year-round use.

Farming

Our farm is LEAF Marque accredited (Linking Environment And Farming), recognising that we work sympathetically with our environment and encourage links with our local community. Fruit crops include strawberries, raspberries, mulberries, Morello cherries, rhubarb, damson, Victoria plum, greengage, quince, and the curious medlar.
