This grilled cheese sandwich toastie really hits the spot with creamy Brie melting into our deliciously sticky and spicy Hot Gooseberry Chutney. Perfect for a comforting and indulgent lunch, just don’t forget a napkin!
Ingredients
-
2 thick slices of crusty bread (wholemeal, seeded or sourdough works well)
-
1 tbsp soft salted butter
-
4 slices of Brie, around 50-75g
-
2 tbsp Tiptree Hot Gooseberry Chutney
-
Pinch of black pepper
Directions
Thickly spread each slice of bread with butter on one side only.
With the bread butter side down layer up the unbuttered side with the Brie slices.
Top this with the Hot Gooseberry Chutney.
Sprinkle with black pepper, top with the remaining slice of bread (butter on the outside) and press down.
Place in a hot frying pan and cook over a medium heat for around 5 minutes a side until the toastie is golden brown and the cheese is oozing.
Alternatively grill the toastie or use an air fryer and cook for 8 minutes at 180°C, until golden, turning once after 4 minutes.
Remove carefully from the pan, cool for one minute, slice in half and enjoy hot on its own or with a salad.
