Mincemeat & apple tartlet
A quick festive treat using Christmas store cupboard ingredients
4 Pastry Tartlets (readymade)
1/2 jar of Tiptree Mincemeat
1 Small Cox’s Apples
2 teaspoons Castor Sugar
1 teaspoon Icing Sugar
4 Maraschino Cherries (with stalks if possible)
Heat oven to 160 degrees fan
Put 1 ½ teaspoons of Mincemeat in pastry tartlets and spread over base
Cut apples into 4, core and thinly slice, cover mincemeat with one layer of apples
Dust with castor sugar
Place tarts on baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes – mincemeat will be warm and apples still crisp.
Dust with icing sugar. Top with a cherry. Serve with vanilla ice cream or fresh cream.
