We are very pleased that the Tiptree Community Hub CIC has been awarded a grant for £1000 from the Royal Warrant Holders Association Charity Fund.

The Royal Warrant Holders Association Charity Fund offered a special £10,000 grants scheme of 10 x £1,000 grants for food bank-related charities, in support of HM The King’s Coronation Food Project to tackle food waste, which was launched in celebration of his 75th birthday.

Royal Warrant-holding member companies were invited to apply for a £1,000 grant for a food bank-related charity that they are actively supporting.

Wilkin and Sons were awarded their first Royal Warrant from George V in 1911.

We are thrilled that this will help with the great work that Tiptree Community Hub does for the local community, and we are very grateful for the generosity of the RWHA Charity Fund.

Tiptree Community Hub was set up in December 2022 to provide a community fridge, larder and school uniform service to the local community. Their main purpose is to reduce the impact of food waste on the environment. They do this through partnerships with Fareshare, and local businesses. Their team of volunteers collect food donations from local businesses and redistributes this through the community hub. They also do the same with pre-loved uniform, preventing clothing from being sent to landfill and helping parents reduce their costs in buying uniform.

Their second priority is to help people who are struggling with the cost of living. Providing free food, school uniform and other support services which include referral to foodbanks and other voluntary groups and services who can support and help.

Supporting mental health is their third priority, with plans to expand their services to offer groups and opportunities such as a chair pilates group, a walking group, an anxiety and mindfulness group and a knit and natter group.
