Cheese and Tiptree Chutney Sandwich

A cheese sandwich is only as good as its ingredients, and this classic British lunchtime staple is elevated by our signature Tiptree Chutney. Here, doorstop-sized slices of soft, buttered wholemeal bread are filled with thick slices of sharp, extra mature Cheddar cheese and a generous dollop of tangy Tiptree Chutney. Crafted from apples, raisins and plums and gently spiced with ginger and chilli, this delicious chutney takes a humble cheese sarnie to the next level.
Ingredients

6 thick slices of extra mature Cheddar cheese, at least 50g

2 thick slices of wholemeal bread cut from a sandwich loaf.

Salted butter for spreading

1-2 tbsp Tiptree Chutney
Directions
- Butter the slices of bread to your preference.
- Generously spread one of the buttered side slices of bread with the Tiptree Chutney, then arrange the slices of cheese on top. Place the other slice of bread on top, buttered side down.
- Lightly press down and cut the sandwich in
half.
Optional
Add a handful of ready-salted crisps inside for extra crunch.
Additional Information
Butter the outsides of the sandwich before cutting it and grill or fry until golden for a delicious toasted or grilled cheese sandwich.
