TIPTREE STRAWBERRIES ON TV WITH CHERRY HEALEY
A taste of summer came early this year when presenter Cherry Healey was shown visiting the Tiptree strawberry fields and the jam factory for BBC TWO “Inside the Factory.”

There were two celebrations in one at Tiptree this week when The Lord Lieutenant of Essex Mrs Jennifer Tolhurst planted the final tree in the Coronation Copse and later unveiled a blue plaque to commemorate Mr Arthur Charles Wilkin the founder of Wilkin & Sons. Guests, including representatives from Tiptree Parish Council and Colchester City Council, travelled to the tree planting on the farm trailer.

TV’S “BIG COOK, LITTLE COOK” AT TIPTREE
Youngsters of all ages who watched “Big Cook, Little Cook” had a glimpse of delicious strawberries being picked on the Tiptree farm in summer, then the strawberries were taken across the fields to the jam factory where they were made into Strawberry Conserve. The highlight of any event about jam is seeing our special young guests tucking into a cream tea of homemade scones, Tiptree Strawberry jam and a touch of Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream. The film was made for CBeebies “Big Cook, Little Cook” and can be seen on iPlayer for a few weeks.
