Cole's Puddings was originally established as A.J. Cole in Essex in 1939. Using his Great Grandmother's book of recipes, Albert Cole created a range of puddings and cakes. Fifty years later, Albert's son, Chris, expanded the business into Cole's Traditional Foods and moved to a custom-built craft bakery in the village of Great Chesterford. In 2010, Cole's became part of the Wilkin & Sons Ltd family of businesses. Over those eighty years, we have developed a reputation for making some of the most delicious Christmas puddings on the market. We use the finest ingredients, classic recipes and traditional methods to create our puddings. The care and attention provided by our skilled team ensures that we deliver that home-made taste that our customers love.

Our History

The ‘Tiptree’ story begins around the early 1700s with Trewlands, the farm that was later to become the main site for jam-making in the Essex village of Tiptree. Today, there are some 11,000 inhabitants in what may well be the largest village in the country.

Our farm is LEAF Marque accredited (Linking Environment And Farming), recognising that we work sympathetically with our environment and encourage links with our local community. Fruit crops include strawberries, raspberries, mulberries, Morello cherries, rhubarb, damson, Victoria plum, greengage, quince, and the curious medlar.
